Hello friends! I wanted to write a quick post today because I am having a slight bujo crisis! Okay, it’s really not that bad. It’s more of a dilemma than a crisis. I have a tough decision to make and I need your help!
I have less than 20 pages left in my current bullet journal. This is a bittersweet time, because I love my current journal, but it’s always so exciting to start fresh and new in a brand new notebook. (I’m already planning out my new spreads and themes…)
Right now I’m using a Leuchtturm1917 A4 Master Slim Dotted. It’s the hardcover gray color which I just love so much. I started using it in September 2016 and it’s been perfect for my first real bullet journal.
But, my problem is I’m not sure if I want to continue using the A4 size, which is slightly larger than a standard piece of paper (8.3 x 11.7 in to be exact.) I originally picked this size because I thought I wanted more space for layouts and adding pictures and whatnot.
It’s not until recently that I started feeling like this size was too much space on my pages and I wasn’t completely filling every page. I’ve noticed I’ve had a lot of half-blank spreads underneath lists. Plus, because this is the slim size, it has about half as many pages as the A5 size Leuchtturm1917 (which has 249 pages.)
So, I think what I want to do is migrate to the Leuchtturm1917 A5 Medium Dotted in white, which is about half the size. I really love the white because it looks so clean and minimal. I’m not one for the bright wild colors like lime green or orange! And it’s a much more reasonable price, with double the amount of pages.
I’m a little worried because I’m so used to having massive dashboard-like weeklies and lots of space for headers and introduction pages. But, many of the other bullet journalists I’ve seen and follow use the A5 size and seem to be doing perfectly fine.
Basically, my question to all my readers out there is, should I downsize to the smaller A5 size notebook? Have you ever downsized your journal, and what was the outcome? Please let me know in the comments! I’m desperate for some advice!
