Happy Spring, lovely readers! It’s officially the first day of my favorite season. If you couldn’t tell by the abundance of spring-related blog posts I’ve been writing, I absolutely love spring time. Everything is fresh and clean and new, there are flowers and blue skies and beach days. We can finally wear shorts and flip flops and open the windows!
To celebrate along with the regrowth of the world around you, it’s a great time to refresh your home decor as well. Things can get a little, well, dingy during the winter time — piles of blankets on the sofa, drab colors, dusty corners. Maybe even a few spare holiday decorations left here and there.
Never fear! Here I’ve compiled 6 quick and easy ways anyone can do to add a little life into your home decor this Spring:
1. Bring Greenery Inside
Whether it be faux plants, real plants, a vase of fresh flowers, succulents, or whatever else you can come up with, having a a little greenery inside your home will really brighten your mood and make it feel like spring. Of course, I’m all for real plants (because they’re so good for your home), but if you are lacking a green thumb, by all means, bring on the silk plants.
2. Update Kitchen Hand Towels
I’m kind of addicted to collecting kitchen towels. It’s just such an easy way to change up the look of your kitchen, which otherwise usually isn’t very easy to redecorate. I have different ones for each holiday and dozens of colors and patterns. They’re cheap and easy to find at almost any store and make such a huge difference.
3. Fill Your Home With Fragrance
Nothing will make you think of spring more than having a house that smells like spring. Whether you like floral, beachy or citrus scents, this is the time of year for the fun and playful scents. I love wallflowers from Bath and Body Works because you just plug them in and leave them alone, but your house always smells great. Other options are candles, diffusers and wax melters.
4. Spruce Up Outdoor Areas
This is the perfect time of year to spend outdoors, whether it’s entertaining friends and family, lounging poolside, or a backyard barbecue. If you’re fortunate enough to have an outdoor space, you’ll need to spruce it up a bit. Whether you’re in the market for a whole new patio set, or maybe just a new rug or planter, there’s tons of easy items to add.
5. Throw Pillows
This is one of the easiest things you can do year round to update your space, whether it’s a on a bed, sofa or outdoor bench.
Pssst! Before you start redecorating, you need to start your spring cleaning!
